6th Strähle Porsche Swap Meet in Schorndorf

First weekend of November, the charming Schwabisch town Schorndorf will be invaded by Porsches and Porsche fans once again. Paul-Ernst Strähle Junior, and Marco Marinello (Elevenparts) will be organising the Strähle Swap Meet for the 6th time allready.

Exactly as the last 2 years, the event takes place at the Schorndorf Galerie of Kunst und Technik. For sure it is not the biggest Porsche Swapmeet one can image but nevertheless it really is worthwile visiting. It's a great place to meet other people enjoying the same cars and passion, a unique opportunity to find some rare parts or literature. For example, I noticed no less than 2 Porsche Gmünd brochures last year, myself I bought an original Porsche Speedster manual in pristine condition and some real rare literature of the Porsche airplane engine of the fifties.

Besides that, don't forget to bring some pictures with you, as you will see for sure some Porsche personalities like Herbert Linge, Peter Falk, Paul-Ernst Strähle who will be happy to sign your pictures. And it's always nice to have a chat with these guys, as they always know an intresting story or anecdote.

Ik ga en zorg dat ik dit keer wel mijn owners manual bij mij heb om mensen zoals Herbert Linge, Hans Metzger, Valentin Schäfer etc. hem met een handtekening op te sieren. Kan mijzelf nog steeds wel voor mijn kop slaan. Het leuke is dat al deze legendarische personen uit de Porsche geschiedenis super benaderbaar zijn.

Wat betreft de swap meet, inderdaad niet heel erg groot maar wel gezellig. Beste is het als combo te doen met bijvoorbeeld een bezoekje aan het nieuwe museum of in mijn geval Karl Hloch voor zij die van carrera's houden.

Dus voor originele onderdelen hoef je er niet naar toe?

Etienne, heb er het eerste jaar leuke spullen gekocht maar was de jaren daarna wel minder. Bij dit soort meets weet je het nooit. Er is wel duidelijk spraken van een mix van literatuur, toys en onderdelen met de nadruk op de eerste twee categorieën. Echter je hoeft maar net dat ene onderdeel te vinden dat je al lang zoekt om het een geslaagde dag te maken, das de charme van dit soort beursjes.
